Interview with Principal Kaiz
How has your experience been at Springman so far?
I love Springman! It is great. It has been welcoming! The students are awesome, the staff is great, parents are so supportive. It really been a great experience here. Working with the students here I think it is so much fun. Everyday is a new adventure; it's great just to see the great gifts that the kids have, the projects that they make, and seeing what they learn on a daily basis. It's a lot of fun.
Why did you want to become our principal?
I never really wanted to become a principal as a kid at least but I later on I just enjoyed teaching but I really thought that I had some good strengths that lead to be a good principal.
Tell us about your family and your hobbies.
So I have my wife, Liz. She was a librarian and currently is at home with the kids. I have two kids. Brendan and Talia. Brendan is 8. Talia is 5. Second grade and kindergarten. They are fun. Their current love is Star Wars. Everything Star Wars. I enjoy just being with them and doing anything I can with them. As for hobbies, I play guitar, play games, I like playing sports. I like basketball, and soccer anything like that too. I enjoy watching football the most.
Do have a favorite place you’ve visited?
My favorite place I've ever visited was Greece. I got to see some history but also I went on the Greek Islands and got to enjoy myself a little bit. So it was a lot of fun.
What was school like for you?
I think over all it was good good. You always have your bad days. I think I had a lot of friends, I only lived a couple blocks from school. I had older sibling but they were both out of middle school by the time I got there. So they were known but they weren't there. It was a good experience.
As a student, I maybe talked a little too much. I enjoyed math. I did not like to memorize anything so social studies and science were not my favorite thing. Until later when my teachers kinda pulled me in. In middle school I was involved. I was on the basketball team for two years. I was in jazz band for a little bit on the guitar.
